Helpful last minute shopping tips for the holiday season

With Christmas coming here in two days, and there are two more nights of Hanukah, there are still people finishing last minute shopping. But if you still haven’t found that last gift, don’t worry, because Miller Hill Mall, Fleet Farm, and other stores will be open for last minute shopping needs.

Constance Koschack-Nelson, a Fleet Farm pricing team member, explained some of the more popular last minute holiday gifts this year. “So far, I’ve seen a lot of people purchasing kitchen appliances, such as microwaves, air fryers, and pizza ovens and then, you know, a lot of power tools and toolboxes and whatever. And also ice houses and outdoor gear.” Koschack-Nelson said.

If you do plan on going for last minute shopping there are some tips we can provide. You should set a time limit so you don’t spend too much time away from your family during the holidays. You can try to get same-day delivery with online shopping, but in-store purchases do have special deals.

However, if you’re strapped for time, giving sweets or a home-cooked meal absolutely shows appreciation. You can always get a gift card too as a last-minute gift this holiday season.

Nathan Lonnes, a Fleet Farm sporting goods lead, talked about some of the other popular last minute gifts. “Everyone needs a good flashlight. Knives too, like little pocket knives. And then probably the biggest one, whether it’s Christmas related or not. It’s been heaters we’ve been selling, a lot of heaters.” Lonnes said.

Fleet farm will be opened until 6pm tomorrow Christmas Eve. A lot of popular gifts this season include toys, clothes, or even supplies for the cold winter. Miller Hill Mall will close at 6pm tomorrow, but you can still get a photo with Santa before Christmas. There are also plenty of kiosks still open throughout the mall you can shop at.
